Old school Sci Fi on Mars.
Absolutely love the "Martian Chronicles",have done since I first saw it as a kid back in the early 1980's .
The special effects are not brilliant, infact some of them are terrible, but that's not important. It's the story (Thank you Ray Bradbury) and the pace of filming combine that make a memorable and unforgettable film experience. Also the music is amazing.
For science fiction without the special effects of present day, and to be transported back to being a kid again, and a slower pace of life, you can't go wrong with the Martian Chronicles.

Carl Sagan at his best.

The series is just over 40 years old by now!...and it is still way better than any astronomy programme you see these days.
This is totally due to the mesmerising delivery of Carl Sagan. He makes science concepts sound interesting and available to everyone.
The Vangelis sountrack fits perfectly with Carl Sagans delivery.
Carl Sagan + Astronomy + Vangelis = a perfect combination.
No wonder this series is still so popular after over four decades!
If you have a chance to buy or watch this, you will not be disappointed

The Gift of Wings
I was wondering maybe the second series might not be as good, I was wrong, it was amazing!
The characters are engaging and convincing. Just watching Captain Triggers still shouting and bouncing around the room with wild enthusiasm is totally worth this second series purchase.
The Alan and Charles characters are also brilliant,as is the whole cast, very good acting, and very well written.
I remember first watching this series when I was a kid back in 1977 ~ 1978
This series hasn't lost any of its magic.
If you find a copy buy it, watch it.... I know you will keep it.
