Overpriced,cosmetic blemishes,but a nice style.
It appears well made & is very confortable, although I measured my head as per instructions it is slightly loose & will need further padding for a snug fit to prevent it moving down over eyebrows at a sitting trot. I would say it is outwardly less robust than traditional horse riding crash helmets - if dropped I fear the brim might break, as that would be a safety feature in an accident, or if horse hit brim with its nose, so I shall be careful with it & keep it boxed at home, The leather had two surface cuts/scratches right at the front of the helmet so noticeable, & that’s a shame - for that price I expected it to be unblemished - but I live in Scotland & it came from USA so will not be returning it, but if I’d been able to chose my hat I would not have picked a scratched one. Also a smaller size might have fitted better, I chose medium, my usual size.I do think it is way overpriced, made in China, so really as a western hobby rider it was a vanity purchase! I like the look of the hat & for western riding it fits the image. I’m not sure if it is acceptable in UK competitions with regard to the safety marks - you would need check that with British Horse Society, I’m just a happy hacker. I haven”t ridden in it yet & the photos are straight out of the box images of how it arrived.

This is a tremendous idea to showcase very old books in this way! I only wish the book had been larger as I had to use a magnifying glass to study it
I have a very damaged original copy of this book with pages missing & it was puredelight to get this book & see all the parts missing or damaged in my own childhood book!
