10K acid doesn't work
3 of 3 found this helpful I scratched the penny and quarter on the tester stone, then applied the acids on the traces. The 14K and 18K acids can dissolve the copper traces immediately. I don't have any problem with that. But it seems to take forever for the 10k acid to dissolve the cooper. Some small copper particles just floated off the stone in the acid after 1 minute. it doesn't work, I think the acid is expired. The 10K acid makes everything look like gold. If you use this acid to test your jewelry, you can make some wrong decision and lose your money.
