Careful assembly is required
I think if you assemble it correctly you will end up with an acceptable unit; I can see that it has been designed with thought; however you need to avoid the mistakes I made whilst assembling it.
Firstly you need a floor area longer and wider than the unit is tall and high, so that you have room to stand and tighten the screws on the top of the unit and hammer in the tacks near the edges of the unit.
Secondly be careful in the early stages of assembly when the uprights are only fixed at one end.
Thirdly when flipping it over to put on the backboards be aware that the base is wider than the top, so like me, you may break the unit in half if you put too much weight on it whilst putting the backboards on. You could try placing it on top of a very large table or getting an assistant to counteract your forces.
Also be aware that the backboards only have one white side which should be facing away from you.
