Worth the small investment.

Works as advertised but be cautioned it is extremely light weight plastic. I have inadvertantly lnocked it over several times. If stability is important to you, look for something in metal.

Typical Chinese cast iron

First of all, this photo is NOT what you're going to get. The actual product I received was much cobbier than what's depicted here. Subsequent photos on the merchant's site are more indicative of the product they are selling. I paid $69.98 for this one because their X-Y vise looked better finished than the ones on e-Bay selling for $39.95. Turns-out they're the same! All that being said, the vise does work as intended and is about $300 cheaper than one made in the USA... If there is such a thing nowadays... If you're a home DIY type who will use this once a year, it'll work for you. If you're a machinist who works to close tolerances, look elsewhere.
