Essential Piece of Kit!

A very sturdy monopod. Takes some getting used to if like myself you're used to using a tripod however once you get the hang of keeping yourself steady and not rushing any shots you can get some stunning results! I also purchased the Mafrotto RC234 head which helps alot, however you can just mount the camera directly to the top of the monopod, there is no need for a head. I am also 5ft11 and without the head on I can use it comfortably at eye level without it being at full extension. The grips on the telescopic leg are very sturdy also and even with a good amount of weight on top they do not slip. I am using this with a Canon 550D/T2i with a range of zoom and prime lenses so this is not as heavy as a conventional video camera but I would comfortably use this with a Sony EX1 or EX3 without any problems. Once you get used to the fact it isn't a tripod and your own movements will jolt and effect the shot this is a brilliant piece of kit and for the price I wouldn't be without one now!
