Silent Service in Malta
This book is the definitive history of the submarine warfare out of Malta. A heavy but compelling read of 367 pages plus appendices with tech info. Covers a slightly wider brief as a lot more went on during the siege period. The author should know, he was there. Backed up with many b/w photos. Published in 1991 by Leo Cooper now O/P so Ebay or 2H Booksellers. Also the author of the Submariner Sinclair series of juvenile books- a much lighter read! One doesn't need sleeping pills with this book so give yourself plenty of reading time.

Safe posting.
With identity fraud on the up you need a bit extra security to prevent prying eyes. These grey bags provide security for all your mail including magazines! Very strong & secure to prevent tampering. You need address labels rather than marker pen for postie to read.
Inexpensive if you shop around on Ebay. Ideal packaging, If Carlsberg made this product then it would probably be etc. etc!

War & Peace- a lesson in history.
1 of 1 found this helpful This is the film to see, the best of all made before & since. The best thing out of the Soviet Union deservedly winning an Oscar for Best Foreign Film in 1968 with Natalie Wood translating for Ludmilla Savelyeva. The music is great in parts, acquired taste in others with typical Russian music written by Vyacheslav Ovchinnikov- unknown. The Director/actor Bondarchuk also the force behind 'Waterloo', an excellent sequel. I tried to get into the book, couldn't get started but after viewing this film I picked up the Penguin & read it from front to back easy as you like. This film is one of the classics of all time to be enjoyed.
