Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM Autofocus Lens
Before I bought this I had purchased the f/4.0 version and I also bought a 2x Extender to work with it. The results from this lens were fantastic as stated in all of the reviews. However, using it with the Extender was just frustrating. It did not autofocus. This is a facet of a majority of the few Canon 'L' lenses that are compatible with the Extender. Unless it is a large maximum aperture there is no autofocus. This coupled with a lack of Image Stabilisation meant a lot of blurred shots. So I decided to cut my losses and sell the f/4.0 so that I could purchase the f/2.8. The reviews on this lens said it all. Stunning quality, brilliant IS, great low light capacity and it worked with the Extender on autofocus. I can't praise this lens enough. It does everything. The only downside (much publicised everywhere) is the weight. Yes it is a beast, weighing in at 1.5 kilo, but, quite honestly, I don't notice it. This is a small price to pay for such a brilliant lens (though talking about small prices - it ain't cheap. However, the number of people that seem to crop up on Ebay selling lenses that they have hardly used is amazing. Mine had never been used so although I paid a good price I had a virtually new article. I'm happy.
