My So-called Life: The Complete Series DVD (2007) Claire Danes

Lovely Series

I'm surprised by how well this series has stood the test of time. My wife, who didn't know it, is enjoying it a lot. The great thing about it is that it gives fair time to a large cast of beautifully written, passionately acted characters: it's not just about the kids. This is a very basic DVD set-there aren't even subtitles, but it is a nice trip back to the fading disappointments of the Clinton years, when America still held on to a semblance of self-respect, before 9/11 and their worst demons overtook them. The music is, for the most part, still pretty good; the clothes, not as bad as you'd expect; the attitudes, for the most part, are still recognisable, despite the gulf of events that separate then from now.

Quick and cheap.

The pixmar printers are excellent home printers and these cartridges make for extremely cheap printing. My last lot were half this price, but that's Brexit! They lasted a year, and I do a fair bit of printing. I think there was one dud in the last batch: the printer didn't recognise it and threw a wobbly. Otherwise, they were absolutely fine.
