Trampoline
Digging it will be your hardest task, the instructions say leave a 30 cm ledge for the trampoline to sit on but in reality if you don’t have the springs you’ll nudge the floor. It also should say after the ledge dig straight down for another 20 cm before you angle (cone) it towards the 85cm deep centre point otherwise you’ll hit the floor if you do a backdrop or hard bounce near the edge.
Construction of the actual trampoline is easy. It is as bouncy maybe a little bit more bouncy than the standard trampolines you get in Asda, say. But the real benefit of this is that it’s easy to get on and off and if you fall off it’s not far to the grass. Our children like to take it in turns to hop on show a move, then hop off. This is way easier than on a regular trampoline.
Instructions say one child at a time no somersaults et cetera. But we’ve had the whole family and it can cope with that well once the frame has settled onto the ledge. they are clearly just covering their backs.
Removing that much topsoil to make the hole is a bit of a commitment. I’m hoping that when this trampoline wears out I’ll be able to get the same size one again and just pop it in. And I think when the children grow up and we don’t need the trampoline anymore the whole will make an excellent sunken fire pit/seating area.
