Just read the dust cover.
0 of 1 found this helpful The Wikipedia account of Simo Hayha is better than this book. Simo was a reserved person and spoke very little about his combat experiences. The book is summed up on the dust cover with Simo's quote: "I did what I was told to, as well as I could. There would be no Finland unless everyone else had done the same". That is all you need to read unless you like reading about American made Russian sniper rifles.
There is little doubt that Simo was the ultimate hunter and a true hero. I believe Simo was proud of his service but the killing of so many men took a toll on him causing him to keep silent. The author's shot at writing a compelling account of Simo's life did not hit the mark.

Buyer Beware!
This item is listed as a cement Patio Figure. Not true. I dropped this item and it broke apart revealing it is made of resin, not cement.

A well written historical perspective.
This is a must read to truly understand the native american indians who scouted for the US Army. These men were torn between two cultures and served with honor, courage, and some for revenge. In fact, some of these scouts were awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor. Also, I believe after reading this book, these scouts may have ultimately saved the indians from extinction.
