The pen was as described , the nib is sublime for writing smooth with plenty of line variation and it is currently inked and in my daily rotation! Much better than expected.
I have used Parker fountain pens, ballpoints and propelling pencils all my life and wanted to try the “new generation “ 51’s. I’ve started with the ballpoint and it is beautiful to look at and superb to use. A top quality product. Waiting for a good deal on the fountain pen and that will be next!

Disappointing.
Inferior quality of paper. I wanted a good quality paper but Collins like most other manufacturers do not specify the paper weight. In fact the retailer asked Collins the question and they were unable to answer. Also the displays in the various adverts tend to be poor, not clearly showing the page layout. In retrospect I would have been better served by staying with my Rymans diary at about half the price.
