A properly-engineered beast of a machine
2 of 3 found this helpful You won't find a better-built vertical climber on the market. There are some with more features, but only at many times the price. There are none better built.
This thing is SOLID - the only plastic is in the endcaps of the feet (to ensure the floor doesn't get scratched), the casing of the monitoring unit, and the expanded foam of the handgrips. Everything else is powder-coated steel, well-finished and looks like it will outlast me.
Some market-leading units use use a cable arrangement to transfer drive between the foot pedals. Not here - this uses a chain, and a good stout one at that, far larger than a bicycle chain). The footstands/pedals are solid steel, not plastic like some.
The downsides? Not many.
It's pretty heavy as you'd expect from the comments above; I haven't weighed it, but the package it came in was labelled as 25kg, so you won't probably won't want to move it far from storage to use.
I'd like to see some more functions on the monitor - heart rate input, feet/min climbing rate. This would push up the price a bit, so could maybe be offered as a costed option.
All in all, it's a quality machine that looks like it will last many years, unlike some on the market. It's also much cheaper than many lesser-quality machines. Very pleased with the purchase.
BTW, it's also brutal exercise!

Okay, but...
This box is well-made and the clip keeps it firmly shut but allows it to be easily opened.
Each compartment is big enough for 4-5 average size pills. It has one fault however - the partitions between the compartments don't reach the lid when the box is closed, meaning that pills can cross into other compartments.
This makes the thing a bit useless, though it easily remedied by wedging a piece of thick cardboard or foam into the lid. The box then works as it should. Definite design issue though.

Great spice grinder, not so great for coffee but good for the price.
This replaced a 30-year old Melita coffee grinder that's used purely as a spice grinder, that finally died. It does the job that I need it to do very well - grinding dried cummin, coriander, mustard and chilli pods.
As a coffee grinder, it's not going to give the consistent results that more expensive burr mill ones do, but as a spice grinder it's perfect. I don't expect it to last the same 30 years that my other one did though.
