Great learning tool and first time real digital camera.
1 of 1 found this helpful The Minolta A2 has a lot going for it even 9 years after its release. It had a list price of $999 US and that should tell you something about the quality. The A2 has many external controls and wont make you hunt in menus for the basics like most modern cameras. On the up side, it has a superb electronic view finder, a mechanical zoom, built in flash and a great price used. On the down side, its slower to respond than modern cameras when it comes to writing files to the CF memory, has a clumsy manual focus ring, slower AF and is a bit more noisy than its modern counterparts at higher ISO levels. On rare occasions, the A2 also has a nasty habit of giving AF confirm, when it is not in focus. It can be a gamble getting a used camera but the A2 is built like a tank and is an awesome alternative to a DSLR in both price and size. After upgrading the firmware, you will have a camera that holds its own against its modern counterparts. When you take into account price and picture quality, this camera is an easy 10.

Best bang for the buck T/P you can get.
Many people will place this compound on new equipment to lower temps. Well trusted brand for years and there is a reason.
