Karcher T450 Corded Patio Cleaner. From the Official Argos Shop on ebay
11 Jan, 2018
Almost brilliant - but not quite.
When cleaning patio slabs with no loose stones or pointing, this is a brilliant tool. It uses way less water than just using the lance; makes less mess; you stay pretty dry apart from the bottom 6 inches of your trousers; you don't get freezing cold from being wet through; your hands stay dry; it takes way less time than using just the lance. On the face of it, brilliant - nearly. The problem is that the stone guard doesn't keep the stones out. When a stone goes in, it stays in. Even when you hear the stone being fired around and let go of the water trigger, the arm continues to bat the stone around inside destroying the plastic ribs and firing it out the side in my case. I took the stone guard off and if/when you hear a stone get into the tool (which they will) you lift it off the ground and the stone drops out. Still breaks the plastic but nowhere near as bad with the stone guard left on. The nozzles have taken a bit of a bashing but the unit still works with a hole in the side. It wouldn't have taken much to design a sacrificial plastic liner or one out of high density foam just to reduce the risk of damaging the hard outer plastic shell. So much for German design.

Motamec Alloy Trolley Jack 1.8 Tonne Low Entry Rocket Lift Aluminium Racing Jack
11 Aug, 2017
Jack OK but with three weeks more use I'm not so sure
Bought this jack to replace a smaller alloy one that broke. This jack is light enough and rolls well, but the handle is 6 inches too long and hard to use in a smaller space. It's not quick to raise the car either, seemingly needing more pumps than should be necessary. It is low enough to go under the sills and suspension but I always use a rubber pad (ice hockey puck) as the rubber is too thin on the face of the lifting plate. The biggest issue in use is the side-to-side sway that the jack seems to have. You can rock the car for and aft and the silver jack sides sway. If the car isn't jacked up absolutely square it's quite apparent and a bit worrying. I'm almost at the point of asking for it to be upgraded to the next weight, but at 1.8 tonnes it should be man enough to do the job. I've worked on cars for 30+years and never used a jack I felt so nervy about. I would use it at the race track for wheel changes as I can man-handle it about.
