Quality British Product
I standardised on the MK Grosvenor range of polished brass electrical fittings when we redecorated our house 30+ years ago. This dimmer replaces one that recently failed. The push switch gave up.
Unlike some modern replicas, made of plated pressings, these MK products are made from polished cast brass and ooze quality.
The dimmer works well with the Philips “Warm Glow” LED bulbs that are sold as being dimmable from a conventional dimmer so there is no need to go to the expense of a dedicated LED dimmer if you choose the correct bulbs.

Fills a gap in the light switch department.
I needed a push-to-make switch to operate a WiFi light dimmer that is installed in the wall-box behind a room’s light switch.
Push-to-make switches are not easy to find from manufacturers such as MK and Crabtree.
Unlike many on sale on eBay these buttons are large enough to be seen and operated by people using the room. I mounted them on a blank plate which matches the other switches and sockets around the house. It is important to earth this metal switch and this is one area where they fail, as there is no earthing screw. They are rated at 240V and have substantial screw connections rather than the flimsy solder tags I found on others.
They do not have illumination to show they are on. This somewhat redundant feature on a “light” switch caused switches I tried before these to literally blow up (I have a slow-mo video of the event!).
Obviously it would be preferable to have a matching certified easily installed wall plate switch from the manufacturer that makes all the other sockets and switches around your house, but in the absence of these it is possible to make your own with these push buttons.

Perfect in every way apart from it is locked to BT Broadband
6 of 6 found this helpful I bought this BT Home Hub 2.0 to replace my older equipment and tidy up my system. Previously I had a separate ADSL modem, ethernet switch and a wireless router: all powered 24 hours a day and all with their own supplies. Replacing these with the Home Hub 2.0 saves me £25 a year in electricity costs.
Added to this the Home Hub 2.0 performs so much better. My Broadband speed has doubled and the wireless "N" is a great improvement over the older system. Previously we had to leave doors open so the wireless could reach the furthest corner of our house and even then it was an intermittent signal, now we don't even think about it, it just works.
The BT Home Hub 2.0 is also a "looker". I appreciate that physical appearance is low on the list of priorities when you are choosing an ADSL modem, but this is a really beautiful design - probably the nicest there is. Putting it in a place where it can be seen, necessary for a good wireless sinal, is no longer a problem.
The only downside is that the BT Home Hub 2.0 is locked to BT and you can't use it with any other Internet Service Provider. If it wasn't for this it would be perfect.
