A book to treasure if ever there was one!
1st read as a library copy, I had to have my own. Surely (apart from trendy critics) we're all Sound of Music fans, deep down? Tom San-P gives the full story of how it came into being: the reality, the 2 German films, the Broadway show and the film. Told in a full & factual way, and as dispassionate as any total convert could be. One only hopes for a paperback version eventually, purely to cut down the weight on long journeys!

An invaluable musical resource
In my particular case, it is an invaluable resource, listing as it does the whole of the standard classical repertoire. I will be using it as reference on compiling future programme ideas, either to produce myself or to offer to prospective clients. Given that it is an obvious reprint of a much earlier work, its legibility is all that one could wish for.
