love these buggers
They do exactly what they say they do. They float around, and by virtue of bumping into the sides of the hot tub, collect the tiny bits of oil and debris that would become the scum line. I wring mine out over the side whenever I get in the tub, and rinse it a few times, and then it goes right back to scumming around. Replace when they start to get brown, or at the end of the season.

Good balance of utility and cost
I picked this up when it went on sale for $150, and so far, it's been worth it. The dust bin is relatively tiny, and the vacuum isn't powerful to pick up big pieces of anything, but it gets the dog and cat hair from under the couches -- which is really what I bought it for.
One issue I have with it: when it hits a carpet or other change in floor depth, it will leave small piles of debris that it's been pulling around with it that it's not powerful enough to suck into the bin.
The kids love it, and have named it 'Chester' for no reason. I let them put dirt on their train table and put Chester to work. They love watching him roll around and respond to their pushing on the bump sensor. In terms of teaching kids basic robotics, it's great.

My laser printers don't like them :(
My HP and Dell laser printers both seem to have issues getting toner to stick to these. Toner sticks great to regular paper, but for some reason, when printing shipping labels, the barcodes come out as a big mess of blobs. The lines end up looking like leaves caterpillars have been nibbling at. But, it was a cheap mistake and with two kids who love to color, will end up finding a use for these. If you're buying them for shipping labels, though, buy a small quantity to confirm that they'll work well with your printing setup.
