LED Number PLate lights
1 of 1 found this helpful I bought these units not to fit as designed, but as boot lights to replace the puny single 5w bulb in my Astras boot.. The units are as expected larger than the light fitted, but some careful paring and cutting enlarged the existing hole in the interior fascia, and another similar sized one on the opposite side. A 3m length of 1mm double core cable was purchased separately, the spade connectors were cut off the light units and everything was soldered together and insulated using heat shrink tubing and tape.
The light units were fitted into the cut recesses, and the cable was run behind the interior fascia and tucked under the plastic boot trim. Removal of the original light unit plug from the wiring harness and connection to the leads of the LED unit replacing the original connected them all together.
The end result is a boot thats lit like daylight from both sides, which when youre out all times of night with a lot of gear is a real godsend.
The units are very bright, reasonably priced and im more than happy with the final result.
