KUROSAWA'S FIRST-FOUR FILMS......EXCELLENT COLLECTION....
Finding Kurosawa's first films is difficult.
This particular re-issue is by Criterion, and provides an excellent version of each of the films.
Each DVD is protected by a slim-line jewel-case.
The liner-notes included with each DVD are accurate and helpful.
The set is a bit expensive....but in the end...it was worth the money.

GREAT GEAR......BUT NO LONGER SERVICEABLE WITH OEM-PARTS....
This product is a finely crafted piece of gear, producing excellent sound-quality.
It is very complex to use! The Owner's Manual requires a "pilot's" license to read and operate! Once you get the "hang" of things, it does its work quite nicely!
The audio design of the recorder/player is excellent. We have multiple high-end Yamaha pieces, and this unit blends quite comparably with all the rest.
But...and this is a very GIG "but".....these units cannot be repaired! Yamaha no longer makes parts for them (and their smaller siblings the CDR-HD-1300, and CDR-HD-1000), so when the laser-unit fails, or the CD-drive fails...all you have is a HardDrive with music you can play. No more "recording"...and no more "playing."
I have two of these units...so the bad news has double-impact on me....
