Rigby weaves his literary magic
One of England's best film writers, Jonathan Rigby, provides a concise and amusingly entertaining - not to mention wickedly erudite and expansive - account of the history of British horror cinema. A great read.

Cutting to the Chase
American expat Joe Losey, who fled the US just as the HUAC persecutions were gaining momentum, made some great films after relocating in the UK. He also made a few legitimate turkeys, but luckily none of them are in this boxed set. While I had seen a few of these films before, one pure unseen delight in this collection (for me, anyway) was Mr Klein (1976), an Alain Delon vehicle in which Kafka meets Visconti. The ending is superb. This box set is value for money.
