Great Jimi Hendrix rarities compilation...
A selection of hitherto unreleased and mostly non-bootlegged aural gems from a master guitar blaster... Turn up the volume, kiss the sky and drift away in a purple haze with Jimi! Highly recommended of course!
BEREAVEMENT - BLU RAY - Region A - Sealed

A low budget Slasher Flick with epic ambitions...
BEREAVEMENT is a gritty and well-made sequel/prequel to Director Steven Mena's impressive Horror debut MALEVOLENCE (2003). Whereas the first film was very much a loving homage to such films as John Carpenter's HALLOWEEN and Tobe Hooper's TEXAS CHAIN SAW MASSACRE, BEREAVEMENT tiptoes around the more graphic excesses of the generally unpleasant torture-porn genre. It is noticeably more graphic than MALEVOLENCE as far as gore goes, though apparently much violence was trimmed during the editing process, what remains being more than satisfying and occasionally hard to watch. The film's central theme of child kidnap/abuse, with the young abductee Martin - who suffers from congenital analgesia - being unable to feel pain or human empathy is uneasy viewing territory, but is certainly an original angle. The relentless journey through the raising/training of a serial killer explores the largely hinted-at back-story to the 2003 film: BEREAVEMENT even ends with a post-end credits clip from MALEVOLENCE. The cast largely impresses, with central teen protagonist Allison Miller (played by the engaging newbie actress Alexandra Daddario), genre stalwart Michael Biehn (TERMINATOR, ALIENS, THE ABYSS) as her Uncle, and Brett Rickaby as the evil, weaselly killer Graham Sutter being worthy of mention. However the film is stolen to a great extent by the mute, tragic and increasingly frightening presence of Spencer List as the abducted Martin aged 11. Some of his scenes will make viewers squirm in their seats. Those who are sensitive to scenes of violence and peril involving children, both as protagonists and victims, will find certain scenes in BEREAVEMENT a rough ride. Most fans of well-made Independent Horror films will however find much to 'enjoy' in Mena's gruesome epic. Sadly the final film in a proposed trilogy was abandoned after 75% completion due to the tragic death of a main character that made re-shoots well nigh impossible. The Region A Blu-ray of BEREAVEMENT is a vast step up visually and sonically from the DVD releases, and carries a nice array of extras to boot. Highly recommended!
The Culling [DVD] DVD

Cool and creepy low budget horror...
Whilst being derivative of many other previous genre flicks THE CULLING had its moments and certainly proved entertaining enough to keep my attention throughout. A few neat plot twists helped things along, and creepy little girls always work for me...
