No need to buy a new vacuum
Makes my vacuum sound as good as new.

Good unit for the price.
Bought this to replace the exact same unit, as the first one stopped taking rainfall measurements after many years of use. New unit is spot on for rainfall measurement. I think the only difference between this unit and a higher priced unit such as a Davis is the amount of time between wind speed and direction updates, but for the price, this one is quite acceptable.

Try to find an original filter.
My initial reaction was to how difficult it was to close the vacuum once the new filter was installed. The seal must be too thick and while that's good for better suction, it's bad for ease of use. Secondly, after using the filter it was time to clean it. The fleecy nature of the filter makes cleaning a nightmare. I used to use my shop vac to clean the original filter just because I wanted the cleanest filter I could get for the next use. Now, using a shop vac is an absolute pure necessity to remove the dirt on the filter. One cleaning job shouldn't lead to another that's just as bad.
