Butter dish
Not quite deep enough to hold a standard 250g pack of butter without the lid resting on the butter! Mine had a minor dimple in the stainless steel so was probably a second and therefore slightly overpriced. Otherwise, a nice looking dish and easy to clean.

Marguerite Patten's Perfect Cooking
This is exactly the copy I was looking for to replace one lost in a flood. I was a bit uncertain as the cover of the copy I ordered had a reference to it being an Australian version but when it came, it had the familiar British cover of the one I lost. It has some quirks, like the menu maker section, but once you find your way around it, recipes like the Christmas cake and cheesecake will become firm favourites. Some very basic recipes for the extreme beginner make it a useful first cookery book. It was mine when I first left home and it remains the one I use most regularly.

The Marriage of Figaro
An excellent production with English subtitles and a booklet explaining the plot.
