The fisheye is helping improve my creativity & is certainly value for money
I had seen distorted photographs taken with fisheye lenses & thought they looked a fun way to add some creativity to my photography. At £250 for a new lens I couldn't resist & bought one from UKDigital. Once I got used to manual focussing, which was mainly trial & error, I found the images to be very sharp throughout, it's as good as any other prime lens costing a lot more money.
On my Nikon D5000 the lens only operates when the aperture ring on the lens is dialled to f22, otherwise you get an error message on camera & the lens won't operate, but this doesn't affect the aperture you select on the camera, it's nothing to worry about just a bit of a quirk.
I found I was shooting all sorts with the lens to see what effects I could get, some work, some don't, but it's fun & addictive too. Once I've photographed everything I'll start using it selectively!

Picture not to scale
