Superb
1 of 1 found this helpful I chose this turntable carefully. Compared to the AT-LP120, it has a working anti-skate and a slightly better stylus. It won't damage your records like the cheaper turntables, so if/when you upgrade in future, your vinyl will still be sparkling. The built in phono preamp is a good convenience, and unlike the AT-LP120, switching out the preamp actually removes it from the signal path. Reviews commonly say a better external preamp is worth having, but not all external preamps *are* better than the built in one, so it's good to have this included for the price. The only other turntable I considered in the end was the Rega Planar 1, but once you included the phono preamp and the upgrade to an elliptical stylus, the price was a fair amount more than the AT-LP5 and I decided that this would suit me just fine. I've enjoyed it and don't regret my decision at all.

Great wall charger, as far as I can tell
Before I go on, let me first explain that I don't think any of my USB devices have 'fast charge', so I can't verify how well it works with that. However, running an amp measuring app on my Nexus 4, it shows 800 amps when charging using this charger and a short Juic-e-bitz cable. This is the same current I get from my portable battery pack, and from my car lighter charger. I suspect it's the maximum the Nexus 4 can support. However, my old wall charger used to fluctuate between about 250 and 400 amps. So I can say I'm very satisfied, especially given the amazing price. According to the specs it ought to deliver maximum 'fast charge' speed to compatible devices, but as I say, I cannot verify this. The only thing I would have added, in a perfect world, is a 'through socket' i.e. a socket on the top, so that it doesn't reduce the number of wall sockets you have available. But that would have increased the price, so it's fine as it is. Great product so far.
