Perfect for the job
1 of 1 found this helpful As the previous reviewer wrote it's a quality part and is really easy to replace a 14 year old Vivaro van (with the right hex tools) and took me 10 minutes. To get around the problem of the immobiliser remaining active when you crank the engine by turning the key is simple. Using a pair of pliers, gently pull the old key from the key fob. If this doesn't work, take the fob apart as if you're changing the battery. There is a small plastic pin that holds the metal part of the key in. Hang on to this as you'll need it for the doors still! The new key is in a generic plastic moulding which with a Stanley knife can be cut off carefully, leaving an identical metal key complete with hole in the fob end. Now push that into the fob until it clicks. As long as the immobiliser transponder ring which should have been refitted over the new barrel and connected back up to the wiring harness with a small grey/white push fit connector. When you insert the key and turn to the accessory position now, the 2 parts (key fob and transponder) should talk to each other. Watch the red dot on the dash. It should have been flashing steadily and now solid. Once you then crank the engine, this light should disappear. A fast flashing red light means the immobiliser is still engaged and the 2 parts are not communicating or there is damage to the wiring. This is a relatively straight forward job, but beware of the airbags. The Haynes manual says remove the steering wheel prior to the ignition barrel change. It's not necessary as the barrel can be changed with removing the steering wheel. Good luck!

Does the job
One of the more obscure sizes needed for a car key fob. Quick delivery for much needed battery.
