Great for those interested in SAR, or care givers of potential walk-a-ways
A great overview of lost person behavior. Includes analysis of different types of terrain, different age persons and different type persons. If you think you might be interested in SAR work, this is a good book to read. Care-givers of potential walk-a-ways will also find it useful.

Don't waste your money
This book is little more than a partial list of Carolina edible wild plants. It's worthless for identification. The pictures are tiny and lack detail. The descriptions do not contain information on how to identify the plant or recognize look-a-likes, and little information on plant uses, It does give scientific names. On the cover, the authors call this book "a forager's companion." It's not. According to the book, neither author lives nor works in the Carolinas. It shows. There has to a better guide out there somewhere, even if it's not specific to the Carolinas.

Seals great for dry storage
Good quality and fit the old bail wire jars. They are thick and wide enough to cover the whole rim of the jar, and provide a good seal. I use my bail wire jars for dry storage, not canning. If you can with the old jars, you might want to check out the Harvest Guard seals. They are thinner than the Viceroy and not as wide, but they are a tighter fit around the jar mouth. I don't know if that makes a difference. For my purpose they're great and should last a long time.
