Must buy
Stephen Kochan teaches you how to program in C and Obj-C simultaneously to make the learning of the basics behind OS X programming easier. Some of the book is quite tough, but stick with it and you'll get there.
There is also a website devoted to the book, where people can discus different topics in the book and share there answers to various exercises in the book.
Excellent introduction to Obj-C.
After this book, you should pick up a copy of 'Sams Teach Youself iPhone....in 24 hours'.
Put your knowledge of both these books together and you should be able to write great iphone apps.
