Slimmer build than 1/2" drive allowing access for recessed fasteners, comprehensive selection of sizes 5*
3 of 3 found this helpful I bought these sockets after a lot of research with respect to size availability v's price.
I was very embarassed when my boss watched me struggle trying to tighten an antiluce fastener on his Transit recovery truck, the nut was inside a deep box section and the exposed thread was too long for my shallow 3/8" drive socket to reach the nut. The pre cut hole in the box section was too narrow for my deep 1/2" drive socket to pass through. All I needed was a deep 3/8" drive socket and the job would have been done in seconds! After 20 minutes of fannying about (and a bit of swearing), the job got done by "other" means.
I am more than pleased with the sizing options too, I couldn't find a better deal for less money (15 pieces remember), all the way up to 22mm. In my opinion, 19mm upwards is encroaching into 1/2" drive territory, but there's always that one job that catches you out!
The sockets feel good in the hand and look as smart as any other premium priced sets too. If you are a mechanic of any sort who takes pride in a "first time fix", and hates not having the right tool for the job, these sockets are essential.
If you work in a heavy or industrial environment, or just a bit "ham fisted", at this price they can be considered "sacrificial" too.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED and GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY.
