Bad rap due to editing and protesting by his friends and family
This would have been a great movie if they had written out the "Guardian Angel" part. John's friends and family protested the movie and it nearly killed the career of Michael Chiklis unfairly because he nailed John and the story was very good with the obvious horrible hack job stitching the scenes together with a "Guardian Angel". I purchased it because it is not available on DVD or digital formats. The soundtrack was great and again, the scenes minus "Angel" were entertaining. "this movie could have been a contender, but instead it wound up being a bummer..." I still find it a secret pleasure to watch when no one is around.

The most accurate movie about Ed Gein to date.
Not a movie for gore fans, but absolutely a movie for an accurate portrayal of Ed Gein with a few exceptions such as exact way his victims died. But as far as his mannerisms and overall story is was pretty much spot on for those who have read the book "Ed Gein - Psycho!", by Paul Anthony Woods and other books about him. Until another movie is made about Ed, this one is the standard all others will be measured by.
