The Airborne Toxic Event - Watch out for this band
I've been blown away by this band who are making small waves in the US and am astonished that nobody seems to have heard of them over here in the UK.
The sound is indie rock, lots of guitar, bass and viola. The catchy bass line and guitar solos, deep voice of Mikel (a certain strokes sound to it) and the beautiful lyrics all contribute to this album which has not been off my ipod since it came out earlier this week. Sometime around midnight is beautiful, with fantastic strings contributing to the sound, gasoline is a sure favourite, wishing well too. I can go on and on about it...just listen yourself though.
Who does it sound like? Well, there's a certain killers sound, the strokes, the fratellis, franz ferdinand, but overall the sound is put together in a way that shows that this band is not a copy cat. No way.
I say watch out for this band - they may be really big in the not too distant future. And catch them on tour in the UK - every night in November 08. I'm going tonight and fully expect the live performance will matcht up to my expectations set by this album.

Great tunes
1 of 1 found this helpful This album has a great mixture of tracks that are footy related, and those which have a more tenuous link which means it can be enjoyed by those lovers of football, and still appreciated by those of us who are not totally obsessed with the game!
Some awesome tracks on this album...I broke the CD and just had to re-order a new one.

Grace - Detours. An amazing album
This album has such a great sound, a real mixture of slow and fast tracks, well produced, emotional, beautifully sung and musically fantastic.
