Daring, controversial and sensible teenage story of hermaphroditism.
Besides this being such an amazing teenage drama, it also develops a very rare, complicated theme of hermaphroditism. The story is worked in such a human and sensible way that you are able to understand the psychological struggle of the characters to a good extent. The characters are very well characterized and the acting of Inés Efron is just spectacular. I definitely recomend this film to anyone interested in great dramas or controversial gender stories.

Enjoyable Single-Father Movie
Not a lot of movies talk about single dads and this movie does it in a very radical way. Although Jack's character kind of serve's the movie's purpose of portraying a small family living in isolation, the movie's direction is very careful of not falling into gratuity through the unusual father-daughter relationship the protagonists have. The direction is good, the acting is OK, but there are also some silly clichés and hard-to-believe scenes. I only recommend it to people interested in this kind of relationship as a topic. Apart from that, there is not much to see.

Pure genius! Animation and storytelling at their strongest marriage!
Short Peace is an animated shorts tetralogy that can more or less be described as freaking spectacular. Katsuhiro Otomo kicked me again in the anime with his new collection since Memories. Possessions and Combustible are animated shorts of traditional values. The first one is very symbolic while the second one is a classic romance featuring experimental screenwriting. On the other hand, Gambo is a violent and disturbing tale while A Farewell to Weapons is the jewel of the collection: overly sarcastic, full of action and testosterone, and it also has a super hilarious ending. As an added bonus, the collection features a hallucinating introduction to the main stories. Short Peace is genius!
