Very critical that the mortar is the right consistancy
1 of 1 found this helpful With this product it is very important that the mixture of the mortar is absolutely perfect with a plasticiser added. Also a kiln dried fine sand makes mixing easier. As soon as the gun is loaded use it immediately. The mortar can tend to settle and solidify making it impossible to to get it out of the gun. Using a grout that is more like plastic would be much better but I could not find a product that I could use. It is important that no mortar gets into the trigger mechanism because otherwise it won't work. When it works as it should it is brilliant and fast. For grouting paving slabs it is great at getting into small gaps. For re pointing it must be better because it will get into the gaps between the bricks compared to using a pointing trowel. A selection of nozzles gives a lot of options for different jobs. I havn't regretted buying the product but be aware of its limitation and skill is needed to get it to work correctly with the right product in the gun.

Photo misleading
I was expecting an angled pair of vise grips, where the jaws are angled down from the handles, but they were not in the set as was shown in the photograph which is why I bought the set. However, I will use the sheet metal clamp and shorten its jaws to make a camping pot clamp which is an experiment to an extent. it depends how practical the modifications are.

Medium duty pull through rods
This product is perfect for the odd jobs and DIY applications. I feel it would not stand up to regular daily use and the tube that it comes in would not resist being accidentally stood on for example. The quality of manufacture is very good however and it all screws together very well.
