Robust
The stem from my tripod is 28mm diameter. My 80mm 2.5 Kg scope is held rigid by this clamp. 40x magnification is perfectly usable.

brilliant piece of kit - big Tom Tom failings
11 of 14 found this helpful The 910 does exactly what it says on the box. The maps are excellent but seem to ignore Mini roundabouts. Used mine in Spain, it knows all the spanish street names and delivers them in English, if that is what you require. Seems to be "intelligent", if you go off the programmed route it will recalculate to your destination if possible, otherwise you get the dreaded "turn around when possible" voice of doom. Heavier and bulkier than non hard drive versions but if you want to stay with SD cards then you won't buy the 910! There were problems with earlier windscreen mounts but I have not experienced any and think they have been overcome.
My big beef about the 910 is that you need to connect to a pc and internet to do various routine updates or download music tracks ( so much space it ain't funny), there is no option because the 910 does not take an SD card. When you do connect the unit WILL freeze & be useless until you contact Tom Tom Support & they say "Oh, yes this is a common problem, we don't know what causes it , but this procedure will fix it." And it does, until you connect to your PC the next time. The First thing you must do when you connect to your PC is MAKE A BACKUP. That will be the easiest way to recover from the freeze. You will still have to ring support because the reboot procedure is not straightforward and is not detailed in the manual. At Least not in my version. I have used handheld GPS for walking in the countryside and think GPS is the bees knees, the 910 far exceeds the capabilities of my handheld. You CAN navigate city streets on foot using the 910. Buy it and grin and bear the freezing, you won't be sorry
