Not Suitable for the home mechanic in my opinion

I thought long and hard about buying this; and based most of my decision on the description provided by Sealey. I own a number of bikes and wanted to own a top quality lift that would be suitable for all my needs. The description clearly stated that rear wheel removal would be made easier by the removable rear panel, and this was what swung it for me. When it arrived it became immediately clear that this lift will not allow removal of either wheel; the bike has to be secured to the ramp by rachet straps - not supplied! - that should, according to the instruction leaflet, compress the suspension front and rear by 75%. With the suspension thus compressed, how the hell can you remove a wheel??? Not only that but the ramp is not wide enough to allow a paddock stand, or even my bike's centre stand to be employed. If you just want to carry out some high rise cleaning, or maybe an oil change it would be fine, but if you need to do anything which involves removing a wheel, then hard luck. For me it was useless. Completely.
