Bday gift
Bought this for my 5 yr old, turns 6 next week. The stitching is real and it seems like good, durable material...I'm sure it will hold up to the beating it is bound to take

Teaching 5 yr old to read
My daughter missed the age cut-off for Kindergarten so I figured I would teach her to read while we wait this year out. She is a very stubborn girl who gets frustrated easily but she still loves these books. Each one has a different subject and story, each one adds a couple of new letters and sounds and the parent guide states that the child should be reading on their own by book 8 (we've just read book 4 so I cannot attest to that yet, but I believe it at the rate she's learning)! If the person teaching is patient enough to sit with the child and read these page by page with them, they WILL see the child learning to read! Definitely recommend!
