The Flash Archives Vol 5 (2009)
In 1956, in the pages of the fourth issue of DC Comics' anthology title 'Showcase' the second Flash, Barry Allen, debuted. After four appearances in that title he quickly picked up the numbering from original Flash Jay Garrick's run (pun intended) and would continue on until it's 350th issue and then on into 1985s Crisis on Infinite Earths.
This is the penultimate volume of the DC Archive Edition series for the Flash and contains some great stories from 1962 - 1963 such as the introduction of Heat Wave, the introduction of the Reverse Flash AND Wally West getting his own distinctive costume.
You can pick this, and other volumes, up either in this DC Archive Editions format, as one of three larger omnibuses or a series of softcovers and rest assured they'll surpass anything DC put out these Days.

Grant Morrison & Frank Quitely's pitch perfect take on Superman
From Morrison's script to the gorgeous artwork courtesy of Frank Quitely (with digital inks and colors from Jamie Grant) and the lettering by Phil Balsman & Travis Lanham this book is a treat from start to finish.
It's only half of the complete tale, there's a volume two, but in this six issue volume are some of the best Superman moments in Years.
From his work on Superman in the 90s JLA to his run on Action Comics during the New52 you won't find a better Morrison penned Superman.
If you haven't read this I envy you, it's one of the best Superman books full stop & I wish I could read it for the first time again myself.
