Sparkrite Spark Plug Tester, HT Lead & Ignition Tester Tool

Invaluable

Bought for testing some old mowers but had to temporarily add a short length of cable as the mower HT leads were too short to reach the tester cap. A week later our car's engine warning light came on and this tester made short work of diagnosing the problem, allowing a quick and fairly cheap fix at home. It showed a very strong spark on three cylinders and almost none on the fourth. Swap-tested plugs and leads and fault stayed with same cylinder so bought a new ignition coil and had the car back on road within hours. An invaluable addition to any toolkit.

Excellent for a stir plate

I wanted to build a simple stir plate for yeast starters and this was cheaper than sourcing a less efficient basic potentiometer from local stores. It took a few weeks to arrive but does the job nicely. It runs on 3 to 28V so by choosing an appropriate supply I was able to fine tune the speed range of the small PC fan I was using for the stir plate. My one minor quibble is that the PCB-mounted pot lacks a panel mounting nut so you will need a little ingenuity to secure this to a case. Build quality seems fine and at this price I can heartily recommend it for similar low-current projects.
