premise questionable but great music
The movie The Pajama Game is based on a play of the same name. The premise behind the Pajama Game is weak, a strike in a pajama manufacturing facility. The script is equally lacking, with nothing exciting going on. Given the two former facts it would be hard for an actor to present a compelling performance but the acting was surprisingly tolerable. But the music...WOW. I can't believe so many magnificent scores came from such a Broadway play. Though the play and the movie were before my time (barely), I was surprised at how many hit songs there were. For the music alone it gets 5 stars
