Selling Hitler: Story of the Hitler Diaries By Robert Harris. 9780571135578
10 Nov, 2016
A dark comedy of errors.
Extremely well written and researched. The story unfolds as a dark comedy of errors of human nature. Hilarious but exposes the human fascination of all things evil about the Hitler regime. People only see what they want to see when the perceived prize is money or fame or exclusivity. One man spots a market for Hitler memorabilia and his fakes begin to flood the market, the buyers reuse to question their authenticity and a snowball effect gathers pace and engulfs the high and mighty. In the end many expert and commercial reputations are in taters but the big boys get away with their profits. There is much to ponder in reading this excellant book which also is in the "page turner" class.

Dreyfus before during and after.
Very comprehensive background to the state of French politics from about 1870 to WW1. All the conflicting interests explained and analysed. Thoroughly enjoyable read.
