Tube Warmth with Vinyl Playback
1 of 1 found this helpful Wonderful little tube preamp section with an AB amplifier. The sound is warm and full with good pace, but lacking in inner detail, imaging, soundstage, and dynamics. At $130 with shipping this is "The Little Amp That Can". I have teamed this amp with the following equipment for an analog vinyl playback system in a near field arrangement for late night listening in the sitting area of the bedroom.

The midrange is very convincing in its realism especially with vocals. The bass is full with a slight lack of control and definition. The highs are recessed and soft. Overall this amp is musical and a joy to listen to at moderate levels of approximately 85 db, which on this system had the volume control at the 3/8 setting. At higher listening levels the sound became congested and less enjoyable. The Count Basie Album, Basie Jam (45 RPM LP sourced from analogue Productions)sounded especially realistic and musical. Highly Recommended....!!!

Chris has combined Blues, Folk, and Country Music into an enjoyable musical form...This CD is proof that the Music has not died....
