A great read about a very interesting actor
I am really enjoying this book. George Cole has had a long lengthy career, and it is interesting learning about his earlier films, not just as flash Harry. He writes humbly I feel, very thankful for his long career, and especially for the support from Alistair Sim.

The twenties in fascinating detail.
I loved this book. I thought the detail was fascinating, especially for me as I love social history. It gave you a real taste of what it was like living at this time. I cried at some of the sad stories.
Great idea to take individual characters, and detail their lives, especially people that have made a difference to the world.
I would thoroughly recommend this book. Going to read it again soon!

my favourite carry on film
I love this carry on film, firstly I suppose as i am a Nurse myself, then because of the humour as a carry on film .A lot of the humour is true to life, as student nurses getting the route of medication muddled up, and patients getting confused at night; not quite as severe as portrayed in the film.Lesley Phillips is great. For me it is lovely to look back and remember how nursing used to be, not that I was a nurse in the fifties ! I never get fed up with watching it.
