Truly the best iPod.
1 of 1 found this helpful Going from listening to music on an iPhone to one of these iPod classics is a HUGE leap in quality. I purchased a used 60gig and filled it with as much lossless (FLAC-ALAC) music as I could. With a decent pair of headphones it's like being in a concert hall with pristine acoustics. The Wolfson DAC (digital to analog converter) really does give everything a warm feel, whether you're listening to metal or singer/songwriter acoustic songs. Personally I feel it's worth upgrading to a solid state drive, which are less likely to fail on you, but the standard HD is fine. This is the best iPod for audiophiles and hi-fi fanatics.
