Philips DAB Radio AJ5100: Lely Mellow Auio Tone With Plenty of Volume
I bought one of these 2006 vintage raios a while ago. Now 14 years ol,d, it is still working like brand new. It has excellent sensitivity & selectivity in its tuning, both on DAB & on FM bands. Pre-setting your favourite stations is quick and easy. This PHILIPS table or portable DAB & FM radio works from a mains to LVDC adaptor or 6 x 1.5 volt batteries (I recommend rechargeable batteries). This model has a beautiful, lovely audio tone and plenty of oomph' in terms of volume, easily filling a large room with its sound.
I love this radio so much, I'm hoping to buy a second one, which Ill use in my kitchen.
A highly recommended PHILIPS radio: the AJ5100 DAB.

Schaub Lorenz RT242 Mains/Portable Radio
This is a lovely brand new German analogue radio of new millenium design. Reception is very good on all three bands: LW, MW & VHF. The radio has an in-built VHF aerial instead of a telescopic rod, so there is nothing fragile about the radio to break! The radio works from A.C. mains or 4 x AA batteries to give it 6 volts @ DC. I highly recommend the Schaub Lorenz RT242 mains/portable radio. it is excellent value for money and obtainable in the UK from online retailers.
