Nebo Big Larry Pro 500 Lumen Rechargeable LED Torch
    09 Sep, 2022
Big Larry Pro is a bargain for the price.
Big Larry Pro is a bargain for the price. It's not "up there" with the cult status £100+ torches but it rules it's own niche: Bright 500 Lumen C.O.B. Good form factor. Powerful magnet fixing. Charge via 1-2 amp USB anywhere, in a car wherever. Dimmable to 120 Lumen. Reasonably tough anodized aluminium construction, that & the threads are OK but not aircraft grade ( as they state) at this price. Summary - If you are looking for a worklight/camping/emergency/car/find that lost £2 coin torch it fits the bill very well. Recommended.
SNAPSHOTS of the HIPPY TRAIL. 1965-70. SIGNED BY AUTHOR

    A very good read.
If you want to read the remarkable and compelling true story of a likeable street-wise young man travelling overland to India, a journey full of remarkable adventures, crazy people, lovely people and everything in-between don't hesitate to read this. It resonates with my own journey and is more gripping than than the other "Trail" books I have read. There's no page numbers, little or no proof editing and the font is too small BUT after the first few pages that's irrelevant and it does not get in the way of the free flowing and compelling narrative. I hope you found your shack with some green land to look at Billy, I found mine, thanks for the read!
8Km BINATONE TERRAIN 750 Walkie Talkie 2 Two Way PMR 446 Long Range Radio -
    29 Mar, 2017
One of the better consumer PMR 446 radios.
The Binatone company is not as well know as the market leaders, but have a long history of manufacturing quality telephone, radio, electronic keyboards over many years. Some of their 1980s CB radios are collectable and still function very well! This pedigree shows in the Terrain 750. I have to say here that you should take any statement from any manufacturer claiming "5-10Km range" with a hefty pinch of salt. The range of legal PMR 446 UHF low powered radios is limited by, pun not intended, the terrain. If you are "line of sight" you can successfully communicate at long distances, if you are in a hilly area, it's very limited. Built up areas or in buildings can result in a very short range. That said, these are excellent consumer PMR446 radios for the price, reasonably tough, clear backlit LCD display, fairly intuitive menu system, keypad lock and good audio quality. Comes with a dual charger cradle too and replaceable battery packs. A bargain available at discounted prices, now that there are more recent, but internally 95% identical products.
