Syd Barrett: The Madcap Laughs

I first heard this on vinyl more than thirty years ago and the impression it has always left me with is of a man in disintegration, desperately trying to hang on to - something, but ultimately being unable to. It is a tremendous album and at the same time so very, very sad to hear it all again. I have never heard anything quite like this before, or since. If you have followed Pink Floyd from inception to finale, then you have probably heard this album too. I wouldn't be without it, however unsettling it may be to listen to.
