Good AV Receiver especially for the price!
It is a good Yamaha AV Receiver. I am replacing a 1999 Yamaha RXV992 that still works perfectly, only it does not have HDMI. So the need to upgrade since I am now 4k for everything else in my home theater. This unit is nice , has plenty of HDMI and the power while less than my other Yamaha, is ok. I run 5.2.1 two presence channels. It does a good job of adding height to the sound and effects with the presence channels. My two mains are MONOLITH speakers all the rest are Defintive Technology Pro Cinema with their Pro Sub. The sound quality appears to be similar to the RXV992. I wish the unit came with more digital inputs. It has 1 optical and 1 Dig. Coax. it would have been nice to have T2R slot. The display is easy to read and the on TV menu is ok with the setting mostly easy to navigate. I have a Pioneer ELITE Blueray player hooked up and the picture thru the TSR 700 is amazing. The remote is pretty basic but can do most functions easily. Over all I am most satisfied with it and hope it lasts as long as my 992 has.
