Aurora revisited - with excellent decal choices
This is a re-issue of an old Aurora kit dating back over 50 years so does not measure up to today's standards - with the exception of the excellent decal choices. It is easy to build but lacks the level of detail of modern kits. I would be inclined to suggest it might be a good model to suit a youngster with little experience of kit building, but would not satisfy those experienced model makers who delight in lots of parts and detail. The main drawback to the kit is that it retains Aurora's embossed national markings which will need to be sanded off the wings, fuselage and tail if the excellemt decals are to settle properly. I would have hoped the re-issue of the kit would have dealt withat problem! But I will still give it 3 stars because for a fairly simple kit it is reasonably accurate in shape and dimensions, has really good decal choices, and is good for relative beginners where modern kits might be too complicated. With a bit of extra effort it can be made into a good looking model. It was also cheaper in price than the more recent excellent offerings from Eduard, Roden and others: but they are far more complicated.

Good paint, covers weell.
Vallejo Model Color Light Green Grey Acrylic: This paint goes on well (two coats using handbrush) and covers well.I think the green in it could be slightly stronger, but that is my only quibble. I will try other paints in this range in future.
