Slow start, but seems to be forming new scoby after 3 days.
0 of 3 found this helpful The amount of starter tea was smaller than I'd hoped. I followed the very clear instructions to make a 2 litre batch, and used black tea. The recommended 30 minute brew time lead to a very dark tea.
For two days it was hard to tell if anything was happening. There seemed to be a thin translucent layer on the surface, but it was really hard to be sure, due to the darkness of the liquid.
It is now 3 days after starting and I can finally see a thin white layer from the side of the jar, see photo. Also a few small bubbles have appeared. So hopefully all is OK. It might have been better to make a 1 litre first batch, given the small amount of starter tea I had. Maybe less brew time for black tea too?
NB I did not move the jar or take the cloth off the opening to take a better look. I wanted to allow the surface layer (scoby) to form without disturbance. Looking into the top of the jar might have shown progress sooner? But I stayed patient.

Nicer to use than most arm guards.
Goes on easily. Stays in place. Reduces chance of injury. Lives up to the claims.
